Where you live undoubtedly has a huge impact on your day-to-day happiness, and in the wake of the COVID-19, where you live is more important than ever before! Those who visit Chicago for the first time may have a list of assumptions about what living in the Windy City is like, but in reality, they may be far from the mark.
Not quite! Although Chicagoans love a good slice of deep dish more than the average Midwesterner, we eat more than just deep dish. There are tons of incredible restaurants sprinkled throughout the Chicago area. We often recommend exploring options in the Loop before stopping by our Chicago cruise tour on the Chicago River.
If you are looking for deep dish, however, we highly recommend grabbing a table at Chicago Pizza & Oven Grinder Co., Pequod’s Pizza, or the beloved Lou Malnati’s.

There’s no denying that the Chicago Loop, notably Michigan Avenue, is home to tons of incredible shops, sights and restaurants that attract both locals and tourists alike. In fact, you could probably explore a new shop or restaurant on Michigan Avenue and not repeat locations for months. Don't get us wrong, we LOVE the Magnificent Mile; but there are plenty of other amazing neighborhoods to explore as well!
Head west to the West Loop for a variety of up-and-coming restaurants, or take the short trip to Pilsen to indulge in some excellent cuisine. Step outside of your comfort zone to experience all of the amazing benefits that living in Chicago has to offer.

While Chicago is a major city, it’s certainly no concrete jungle - there are more activities to do in Chicago than one may think! Examples of outdoor activities include a Chicago cruise tour, kayaking on the Chicago River, heading to Montrose Beach, exploring a new neighborhood, doing a brewery tour, renting a Divvy bike, and so many more! The opportunities to spend time outside are endless, especially with such stunning city and lake views throughout the city.
Not always! One beautiful thing about Chicago is that it experiences all four seasons, giving Chicago residents the perfect mix of temperatures on an annual basis. Winter in Chicago is notoriously cold, though, so if you’re going to go outside in the middle of the winter, make sure you have a winter coat that will keep you warm in those negative temperatures.
