The Mag Mile lights festival starts promptly at 4:00 PM on Friday, November 22 with an oversized snow globe, countless holiday card photo-ops, live music and a visit with Santa himself. Lights Festival Lane will also feature tents from Garrett Popcorn, Frango Mints, Connie’s Pizza, and The Eli’s Cheesecake Company, so you certainly won’t go hungry or bored!
After snacking and frolicking down Lights Festival Lane, walk over to Giordano’s on Randolph Street for their famous stuffed deep dish pizza. There’s nothing like sitting down in a Giordano’s booth after spending the afternoon outside.
Have 90 minutes to kill? Start your day on the water! This weekend is your last chance to hop on the Chicago Architecture Foundation Center River Cruise aboard Chicago’s First Lady. The cozy interior of the boat features a full service bar including hot apple cider and tasty snacks and the upper deck offers the best views of the city. Cheers!
Stop by the BMO Harris Bank Stage from 11:30 AM until 2:30 PM to see Parachute, Echosmith, Skylar Stecker, and Ryan Cabrera perform live. Then follow your favorite artist to a meet and greet for pictures!
In celebration of the lights festival, Harry Caray’s Italian Steakhouse in River North will have free Italian hot chocolate up until the tree lighting ceremony. Enjoy the festive decor and holiday music as you warm up before another night outside.
The BMO Harris Bank Magnificent Mile Lights Festival tree-lighting parade beings at 5:30 PM with grand marshalls Minnie and Mickey Mouse lighting one million lights! After the tree-lighting, the Disney darlings will travel down Michigan Avenue towards Wacker, floats and marching bands leading the way. A Fireworks spectacular will end the evening in sparkles beginning at 6:55 PM over the Chicago River.
