Meet Diamond, a deckhand for Chicago's First Lady Cruises who has been with the company for a little over a year and is currently part of the Senior Deckhand Program. A lifetime Chicago resident and self-proclaimed "foodie," Diamond knows all the best places to hit up around the city (especially when it comes to tacos). Why did you come work for Chicago's First Lady Cruises?
I became a Deckhand because it was somewhat within my major for college.
As a child, what did you want to do when you “grew up”?
I wanted to become a firefighter, but working here changed my mind.
What are three passions of yours?
Cooking, driving anything and helping people.
What is the most adventurous thing you've ever done?
Drive a motorcycle!
Where did you grow up?
I grew up in West Garfield Park.

If you had to eat just one meal for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Tacos
When you have visitors to Chicago, where is one of the first places you take them (besides the cruise)?
Anywhere to grab food. (I like to eat)
Tell us about a memorable experience on the job at Chicago's First Lady Cruises/Mercury Cruises.
Driving the boat is a very memorable experience for me.
What is something people are surprised to learn about you?
I learn things very quickly and drive very well.
